Updated October 31, 2026. US information; schedules and availability may change.
Your phone should make the one-hour change on its own. But if you have an early flight, a Sunday shift, or a medication reminder, it is worth checking one setting before bed. In most of the United States, daylight saving time ends at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, November 1, 2026, when clocks return to 1 a.m.
The quick setting to check
Open Settings, tap General, then Date & Time. Keep Set Automatically on. Connect to the internet and install any available iOS update if the time zone looks wrong. If the toggle is dimmed, a carrier, Screen Time restriction, or device management setting may control it; do not force a manual time just to make the clock look right.
What about alarms?
Check your alarm in the Clock app and confirm the day and time. An alarm for Sunday morning should use the phone’s local time after the change, but a repeated 1 a.m. hour can be confusing for travel, calendar invites, and overnight work. For something critical, set a second reminder and check the time with the airline or employer.
Who will not see a clock change?
Hawaii and most of Arizona do not observe daylight saving time. The Navajo Nation is an Arizona exception. Puerto Rico and several US territories also do not change clocks. If you cross a time-zone boundary this weekend, check both the departure and arrival zones.
If the display is still wrong Sunday
First compare your phone with an official local time source. Restart it, reconnect to Wi-Fi or cellular data, and revisit Date & Time. Avoid sharing screenshots of your lock screen or personal calendar when asking for help. A wrong time zone can cause missed notifications and confusing calendar entries.
The short answer
Yes, an iPhone with automatic date and time enabled is designed to update for daylight saving time. Check the setting and your important alarms tonight; do not assume a clock error without checking the local time zone.
